Grant Aid
Student Support Services (SSS) Grant Aid is a financial award available to eligible
program participants. To facilitate retention and on-time graduation, we have a Grant
Aid opportunity during the Fall 2025 Semester. $10,000 will be given out to active
participants based on the criteria below. The application opens on October 13th and the deadline is at 5 PM on November 17,
2025. Apply by filling out the application available here, or stop by Cowan Hall 211 to ask our staff about applying in person. Please contact

GOALS OF GRANT AID
- Improve SSS participants’ retention by supplementing financial assistance.
- Improve academic success by reducing the number of hours SSS participants need to
work.
- Provide incentives for SSS participants to make timely progress in their degree program
and to successfully complete their developmental coursework.
- Demonstrate support for SSS participants who are actively using SSS resources to facilitate
their academic success.
GRANT AID CRITERIA:
- Must be actively using services (example: meeting with your TRIO Advisor, attending
workshops, receiving tutoring, etc.)
- Must be Pell Eligible and have unmet need as determined by the Financial Aid Office
- Award amount may not exceed the maximum Pell award for the current academic year
- Award amount may not be less than the minimum Pell award for the current academic
year
- Must be enrolled at MSU-Northern.
- Must be in good academic standing and not on Financial Aid suspension with MSUN.
