Biography:

Dr. Alli Bristow earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Montana and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Montana State University-Northern. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed School Counselor, and National Certified Counselor. Her professional background includes K-12 school counseling, clinical counseling, crisis intervention, special education, and counselor education. Dr. Bristow was named the 2024 Montana School Counselor of the Year. Her professional and scholarly interests include school counselor preparation, evidence-based counseling practices, counselor wellness and burnout prevention, rural school counseling, and strengthening the preparation and support of counselors serving Montana communities. She has taught and supervised graduate counseling students in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling and has served as a site supervisor for school counseling interns. Dr. Bristow currently serves on the Montana School Counseling Association Board. Her work in counselor education emphasizes strong connections among university preparation programs, professional organizations, schools, and communities, with particular attention to preparing counselors to meet the needs of students, clients, and families in rural and underserved areas.
